# Authentication

[Sendchamp](https://www.sendchamp.com/privacy?utm_source=product_guide\&utm_medium=gitbook-io\&utm_campaign=api_reference_gitbook) uses API keys to authenticate requests.. Your API keys carry many privileges, so be sure to keep them secure! Do not share your API keys in publicly accessible areas such as GitHub, client-side code, and so forth.

We provide you with an Access key on your dashboard as you sign up to enable you to authorize API requests. You can find your Access key in the Account Settings > API & Webhooks section.
